Booking

Bookings
may be made by telephone, e-mail or via a Tourist Information Centre.

When booking a deposit of 50% of the first night is requested.
Deposits
are required within two weeks of making the booking or one week before the
date booked whichever is earlier.

For
short notice bookings, credit card details will be taken.

Guests
will be posted or e-mailed a confirmation letter. Guests are advised
to check that the details are correct.
Sian
is unable to confirm which room you are in as sometimes it is necessary to
juggle rooms to accommodate other bookings (this only applies to double and
single rooms).
Unfortunately
it is not possible to accommodate a large number of one night bookings over
public holidays. Usually only one room will be made available for "One
nighters". there will be an additional charge for this.
Payment
-
Payment
may be made by cash, cheque (made payable to "Sian Howells"),
credit card (all major cards accepted including American Express) or bank
transfer.

Invoices
(for business purposes) are available on request.

Damara
House is not VAT registered.
Cancellation
-
Deposits
are refundable if the booking is cancelled more than 14 days from
the date of arrival.

The full cost of the booking is payable for cancellations with less than 7
days notice.

For
cancellation of last minute bookings (less than 7 days), where no deposit it taken, the full cost of the booking
is payable on cancellation (unless the cancellation is within 1 hour of the
booking).
Arrival
and Departure
-
Guests are requested to vacate their rooms by 1000 on the day of
departure. Bags and vehicles may be left at Damara house on departure
day by arrangement.

Bags and vehicles may not be left
at Damara House beyond the length of stay.

Guests
are requested to arrive between 4pm and 6pm. Guests wishing to arrive
outside of this time are requested to make arrangements so that keys can be
left if there is no-one available to greet them.

Rooms
are not available for occupancy before 2pm but guests may leave vehicles and bags if they
arrive early.

If
guests have not arrived by 10pm and have not phoned ahead to warn of their
late arrival, it will be assumed that they are not coming and it may not be
possible to gain access to the house.
General
-
Guests are requested not to
entertain non residents anywhere within the
house and gardens.

Guests
are given a key to the front door and their room so that they may come and
go at their convenience for the duration of their stay. There is no
curfew.

The
proprietor reserves the right to evict guests for anti social behavior.

Damara
House is strictly no smoking. Guests found smoking in their rooms will
be asked to settle their bill and leave immediately regardless of the time.

Guests
may smoke outside the front door and are asked to dispose of their butts in
the receptacle provided.

Pets
are not permitted although Guide Dogs are welcomed.

There
are no facilities to accommodate children under 12.
N.B.
anyone who booked during 2007 will have their cancellation policy on their
confirmation letter.
